What’s covered?

Insurance: Northirn Overland provides a third-party automobile liability insurance policy (Collision and Comprehensive coverage) with a minimum 2 million policy coverage. You agree to assume personal liability for injury to persons and/or damage to property where the vehicle is driven in prohibited areas or used in a manner not permitted, as stated under the Terms & Conditions.

Collisions. Although they are not frequent, accidents do happen. Northirn Overland collision insurance covers the cost of repairs for any claimed and approved damages related to the vehicle coming into contact with another vehicle or object during the rental period.

Comprehensive. Fire? Vandalism? Theft? We’ve got you covered. Northirn Overland’s comprehensive insurance covers the cost of repairs and/or replacement for non-collision-related vehicle incidents that occur during the rental period.

Coverage Types

During the booking process, the guest must select and pay for one of two protection levels: Basic, or Plus, protection.

Basic protection has the lowest daily rate and the highest deductible*. Depending on the vehicle, deductibles cost between $1,000 to $1,500.

Plus protection has a higher daily rate and a lower deductible* than the basic protection. Depending on the vehicle, deductibles cost between $500 to $1,500.

*In the event of a claim, the deductible is the amount of money that the guest must pay out of pocket before the insurance provider pays any expenses.

Security Deposits

The security deposit is an amount set to help quickly resolve minor incidents that don’t require an insurance claim. For example, a damaged cooking utensil or vehicle scratch that is less to repair than the vehicle deductible.

Security deposits cost between $500 to $1500.

Three days before the trip start date, Northirn Overland will process the guest's security deposit to the credit card on file or send the guest an invoice to be processed. Once the trip is complete, Northirn Overland will release the security deposit back to the guest's card on file. This process may take 5-7 business days after the guests trip as ended.

If the trip results in additional charges from overages or damages, all parties will agree to the charges within a 72hr period.
